Stranger In The Night, nine new dream tones and night scenes by dear friend Aki Tsuyuko 🌝
"Stranger" appeared suddenly this winter, on the day of Ippei Matsui's solo exhibition in Seoul. Self-released by Aki Tsuyuko, these nine compositions - presented as individual scenes - seem to drift down from a cloud, floating directly into the hearts of those who listen, and then return delicately back up into the sky.
Aki's keyboard arrangements have a very special way of warping time, echoing into moments of memory and transporting the listener across space - and this experience is amplified by the beautiful fuzzy haze of Ippei Matsui's guitar, accompanying the delicate dream tones of Aki's keyboard playing throughout. Each piece is suspended in an air of the evening - floating light-as-air notes seem to tweet like a bird in the twilight, as deep organ tones pull the listener deeper into the night, each composition slowly emerging from the gloaming. The works on "Stranger" quickly became some of our favorites from Aki's ouvre, and it is a beautiful joy to be treated to her singing on these new compositions as well. We're certain that "Stranger" will make its way into your heart <3
